       What is Cupping?

Glass or plastic cups are used on the body to create a suction or negative pressure and then glided over muscles and adhesions. What is Dry Needling?

Dry Needling involves an ultra thin needle being inserted into a trigger point (commonly known as a ‘knot’) within a muscle.  The aim of the needle is to evoke a local twitch response to decrease muscular pain and dysfunction within that area.  A localised increase in blood flow is caused by the needle, as the body tries to eliminate the foreign object from its system.  This technique is painless and all needles are single use.

        What is a Trigger Point?

Trigger points are hypersensitive, tightened spots which can occur in any muscle. These spots or nodules are found within a taut band in the muscle.                 Trigger points cause pain, tingling, burning, weakness and other symptoms. They have a special property called referred pain. This means that they                   cause pain right where they are AND pain in other areas.
